Smart Copy Plugin Documentation

Overview

The Smart Copy plugin is a Cinema 4D command plugin designed to enhance the object copying process. It allows users to copy objects with additional options for handling materials. The plugin provides three modes of operation based on keyboard modifiers:

- Default Mode (Ctrl): Copies the selected objects.

- Shift Mode: Copies the selected objects and clones the associated materials.

- Alt Mode: Only clones the materials associated with the selected objects.

Usage

1. Select the objects you wish to copy in the Cinema 4D viewport.

2. Use the following keyboard modifiers while executing the plugin:

- Ctrl: Default copy method.

- Shift: Copy the model and clone the material ball at the same time.

- Alt: Only clone the material ball.

Features

- Object Cloning: The plugin can clone selected objects and insert them into the document.

- Material Processing: Depending on the mode, the plugin can clone materials and update material tags.

- Layer Management: Automatically creates and assigns layers for cloned materials.
