  • 1.0.0 Measure & Dimension Tools 1.13.1 — Measure tab 1. Distance - Measure between two selected polygon points. - Points can belong to one or two editable objects. - Measure between two selected objects. - Measure the local X extent of one selected object. - Creates editable and renderable dimension geometry. - Includes a dimension line, architectural end markers, and value text. 2. Angle - Measure an angle from three selected polygon points. - Points can belong to different editable objects. - Alternatively, use three selected objects: - First angle arm - Angle vertex - Second angle arm - Creates angle arms, an angle arc, and degree text. 3. Surface area - Calculates the complete surface area of an object. - Supports editable polygon objects. - Can evaluate polygon caches from compatible primitive objects. - Creates a linked surface-area label outside the object. 4. Polygon selection - Calculates only the selected polygons. - Requires an editable polygon object. - Creates a linked surface-area label outside the selected geometry. 5. Automatic calculation - Automatically creates X, Y, and Z dimensions. - Supports cubes, cylinders, pyramids, editable meshes, and other objects with valid bounds. - Detects distinct non-right polygon angles on angled objects. - Creates linked angle measurements for detected sloped geometry. - Updates automatically when the source object is: - Resized - Moved - Rotated - Regenerated - X/red and Z/blue dimensions are positioned 5 cm outside the object bounds. - Y/green remains positioned on its calculated bounding plane. 6. Radius - Measures the radius of circular objects. - Suitable for cylinders, spheres, discs, and similar geometry. - Creates a linked radius dimension. 7. Circumference - Calculates and displays circumference. - Creates a circular measurement line and value label. - Uses separate circumference styling and color. 8. Custom measurement - Enter a target construction value. - Measures the original selected distance. - Displays the custom target value. - Stores the original value and scale factor in the measurement name. 9. Dynamic dimensions Independent controls are available for: - Dynamic Dimension X - Dynamic Dimension Y - Dynamic Dimension Z - Enable or disable each axis. - Enter an exact value for each axis. - Adjust each value using an interactive slider. - Lines, markers, text, offsets, and displayed values update interactively. - Dynamic dimensions begin at the selected object’s axis or world zero when no object is selected. Photo Measure tab - Browse for a reference image. - Create a photo reference plane. - Adjustable reference-plane width. - Bitmap texture projection defaults to projection mode 0. - Enter a known real-world distance. - Fit selected reference points to the entered scale. - Create a green master-reference measurement. - Apply a secondary depth scale for parallax correction. - Retrieve the scale from a selected object. - Reset the depth scale to 1.0. - Use photos and floor plans as correctly scaled modeling references. Preset scaling objects One-click Cinema 4D cube presets: - Door 90 cm - Fridge 60 × 60 cm - Tub 80 × 150 cm - Door 36 inch - Oven 30 inch - Tub 30 × 60 inch Inch presets are automatically converted to Cinema 4D’s centimeter scene units. Style and Presets tab Measurement formatting: - Unit selection: - Millimeters - Centimeters - Meters - Inches - Feet - Show or hide measurement units. - Select from 0 to 6 decimal places. - Line thickness. - Text size. - Text extrusion depth fixed at 1 cm. - General text offset. Axis placement: - X measurement → Z offset - Y measurement → Z offset - Z measurement → X offset Independent text rotations: - X-axis text rotation X, Y, and Z - Y-axis text rotation X, Y, and Z - Z-axis text rotation X, Y, and Z Colors: - Optional Cinema 4D axis colors: - X — red - Y — green - Z — blue - Separate line color. - Separate text color. - Entire-surface color. - Polygon-selection surface color. - Radius color. - Circumference color. - Color changes can be applied to existing selected measurements. Preset system: - Enter a preset name. - Save a new style preset. - Update an existing preset. - Load a preset. - Delete a preset. - Presets are stored as JSON files. Refresh and scene tools Refresh Selected Measurement updates: - Distance values - Surface areas - Radius and circumference values - Units and decimal places - Line thickness - Text size and depth - Text position and rotation - Axis colors - Custom colors - End-marker size - Axis offsets - Linked source-object placement You can select either the measurement Null or one of its child objects before refreshing. Additional tools: - Clear all generated measurements. - Built-in Help instructions. - Status display for completed and failed operations. - Cinema 4D Undo support.
